“A Girls Night Out Limo for the Cause”

“A Girls Night Out Limo” located at the Johnson County Executive Airport in Olathe, Kansas have joined forces and partnered with
“Susan G. Komen for the Cure” to support the fight against breast cancer.

A Girls Night Out Limo had the opportunity to purchase a 10 Passenger Cadillac Fleetwood Super-Stretch Limousine. This Cadillac was in need of some TLC, so the owners of A Girls Night Out Limo decided to completely refurbish the entire limousine. The limousine received new paint by “Mosley’s Flying High Paint” of Olathe, Kansas and a new interior was installed by “Stitches” located in Hillsdale, Kansas. It also received a new stereo system, new interior LED lighting, DVD player and a flat screen TV.

For every hour that the Pink Cadillac is rented, the company donates $10 to the
Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Kansas City. A five hour rental would generate a $50 dollar donation towards the fight against breast cancer. The company is anticipating the monthly donations to eventually reach $1000 to $1500 each month.

Breast Cancer Facts

  • In 2007, the American Cancer Society estimates that 178,480 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer; during the same time, 40,460 will die. In addition, about 2,030 men will develop breast cancer and 450 will die.

  • Close to 35,000 fewer women are expected to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer this year.

  • In addition to invasive breast cancer, 62,030 new cases of in situ breast cancer are expected to occur among women in 2007.

  • Breast Cancer is the leading cause of death in women between ages of 40 and 59.

  • 80% of all breast cancers occur in women with NO KNOWN RISK FACTORS. All women are at risk; and one's risk increases with advancing age.

  • A woman's chance of developing breast cancer increases with age.  In the United States, a woman has about a 13.2%, or 1 in 8, lifetime risk of developing breast cancer.

  • The majority of breast cancers occur in women 50 years and older. However only 35% of the women in this age group follow the screening guidelines. The mortality rate would decrease by 30% if every woman over 50 was informed and followed the guidelines.

  • There is no known cure for advanced breast cancer. Detection of breast cancer at an early stage provides a greater chance of cure and more treatment options. When the disease is confined to the breast, the 5-year survival rate is over 95%.

  • Early detection is the key to a greater chance of survival and more treatment options.
